lately

Well I'm not sure if I'm really cut out for this blogging thing because I find that I don't have many interesting things to say, or when I do, I forget to write. Anyway, just some random things going on lately ...

I'm participating in a swap that my friend
Karen is hostessing. We went to CKU-A Stamford together back in October and during that time we all created a "Favorites" album. We had eight instructors that rotated to each class and they provided the materials to do one 8"x8" page about a particular favorite item ... so we did things like our favorite places to shop, favorite books, etc. Anyway, Renee and Karen had a great idea to help fill up the pages in our little albums (since they have more than eight pages in them) and started this swap for more topics. I picked "my favorite music" and was really pleased with what I came up with (self-kudos there). I attached four vellum pockets where people could scan the covers of their favorite albums and insert them in each pocket. And then there's a side pocket where you can list your current top ten favorite albums/artists.

Okay, so more about scrapbooking. I enrolled in an online class offered by
Big Picture Scrapbooking called "Random Me: A to Z" which is going to kind of be based around this book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal called "Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life". You don't HAVE to read the book to take the class, but they said that it was an amusing book so I picked it up. And they were right - it's pretty funny to read someone else's perspective on random things and sometimes say out loud, "Oh my gosh, I do that too!". So leading up to this class (which starts April 6th), I've been jotting notes in the book of topics I'd like to cover too. Can't wait to start this project!

Speaking of projects, I decided to do an album/journal dedicated to the photos I've taken or received via my cell phone camera. I know, I'm strange. But it's quite interesting to go back and look at the photos and then think, "Why did I take this photo?" or "Where was I when I took this?". It'll make an unusual coffee table book for sure.

What's coming up for the weekend ... well let's see ... I'm getting four teeth taken out on Saturday morning. Whoop dee doo. So I think it's going to be a weekend of painkillers and a DVD marathon for me.

I thought I'd post part of a little survey thing that
Karen emailed to me today. Take a look at this check list and see how many things you've done in your life! (Of course, my side comments are in teal ... LOL)
