a happy fall day

We had planned to go apple picking at Brooksby Farm in Peabody today but unfortunately learned that the orchard has run out of apples for the season. We decided to drive up anyway since the store and pumpkin area were still open. We bought one large (11 pound!) and one small pumpkin to carve, plus some of the farm's yummy apple cider doughnuts. It was great to see our friends Kelly, Lorena, Sara, and Jeff on such a beautiful fall day, and that made it worth the drive out to the farm. :) Also got to see the farm's sheep, emus, and llama. I think the plan for next year is to go in September!

And of course, going through the photos I've realized that there isn't one of Kelly or me in the mix! Oh well ... happy fall to you all!

fall is definitely in the air

This is one of my favorite times of the year - the beginning of fall! The air is crisp and a tad nippy, but it's a relief after a hot summer and it means that change is all around. The leaves start turning a pretty orangey-reddish-gold, pumpkins adorn porches, and sweaters come out of hiding. It inspired me to make a fall-themed card today too.

Fall also means apple picking! We're going on the 22nd and I can't wait!
