Christmas is coming

Holy moly - I still can't believe that tomorrow is the first day of December. I know I always say this, but the year has flown by. Last night after work, I walked to wehere I parked the car and saw this beautifully lit house across the street. The candles in each window reminded me of how our stepmom used to put them in our windows, and how my sister and I would go to each room every night to plug them in. Whenever I see candles in windows it makes me think, "Christmas is coming!"

inspired holiday decor & ornaments

My friend Renee came over for Thanksgiving yesterday. After we ate and moved onto bottle #2 of the vino, we decided to get crafty. We were inspired by these monogram ornaments but decided to do words instead. Then after we got tired of holiday-ish words - and more into the vino - we came up with the three word phrase "jingle my balls". Ha ha! And so yes, there are not only one set of ornaments with this phrase, but two! And for sale! On Etsy! Cin cin to that!

Okay, so then today I decided to try and do this after a trip up to Michael's. And here's how they turned out. Not too bad I think.

What are you doing to get ready for the holidays?

harvard square to porter square

I decided to walk from Harvard Square to Porter Square earlier this week instead of taking the T. I came across this small park area that I never really noticed existed before and took a couple of photos of the fallen leaves.

Okay, so like is it wrong if you fall in love with a mouse stamp?? This little guy (and his brothers) will be making his debut on some holiday cards real soon ...

saturday shopping

We drove down to the new Natick Collection on Saturday to do a little shopping. Never hurts, right? Well, not physically anyway. Pocketbook, maybe. :)

I got a couple of little things. A new pair of black shoes from Nordstrom (of course) and a green top from J. Jill (I've never shopped there before, but this top really caught my eye - must've been the green).

Is it wrong that I just totally cut off that woman's head from the photo??

Then Tony and I had dinner at the Met Bar & Grill. They make some really yummy burgers!

(P.S. You can read all about my review of this restaurant on my new blog - Candice Cooks!)

And then after all that, Tony bought me this really cute green jacket from Old Navy. I must say, I do like green. A lot.

I'm gonna need to make a new scarf to go with this pretty jacket soon! It's sooooo cold already!

It sure was a nice Saturday. :)
