s.o.s.

It. Is. Creeping. Up. On. Me!

I'm participating in the 8th annual Somerville Open Studios (SOS) event this year - my first ever craft fair/event! I will have a table set up at Spark that weekend to sell greeting cards, journals, framed photographs, and more. However ... it's only a couple of weeks away and I'm not ready!!! Between designing layouts for
Right at Home, starting a new job, and losing my creative mojo ... let's just say that I've been slackin' in the productivity department! Agh!!

Anyway, one bit of good news is that they just published the maps for this year's event. There will be 100 locations throughout Somerville showcasing the talents of many many artists, and the city was divided into five groups. Spark is on map A, location number 14. If you want to see the map online, go to www.somervilleopenstudios.org and you can access an interactive one.

So so excited about this opportunity. So so freaking out about not having a big inventory.

P.S. I work well under pressure and at the last minute. I just hope I can pull this off!

a long, winded, hectic, exciting week ...

Whew! What a week it has been! To sum it all up to now, one word comes to mind: non-stop. Seriously! (Wait, do hyphenated words count as one word?) Anyway, I just baked cookies for tomorrow's "Easter supper" and I'm ready to hit the hay. But before doing so, just had to say
Happy Easter!

before and after

So Friday was my last day at my big corporate job. It felt weird knowing that I was leaving the office environment, especially when it came time to clean my desk. And for those of you who ever saw my desk in real life, you'll understand what type of a task that was! But alas, I got it done (although it took a week of purging and redistributing things onto my coworkers' desks) and here's proof:

Before and After

I suppose this is proof that miracles do happen? Ha! I can actually see the top of the desk now. Interesting! :)

April is National Autism Awareness Month

As most of you know, my oldest nephew has autism. It's a battle that my sister deals with everyday. One of the most inspiring life artists, Ali Edwards, has created a line of products at Cafe Press with the above logo design. Go check it out now. All the proceeds go towards the Autism Society of America's Getting the Word Out campaign which is focused directly on increasing awareness.

it won't happen again

My boyfriend's brilliant brother sent us an email today pointing out the fact that at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning today (Wednesday), the time and date would be

01:02:03 04.05.06

Pretty darn cool, huh?! Oh and he said that it would never happen again. Which was half true, because it happened in the afternoon, too.

But still, pretty interesting numbers thing nonetheless.

And as far as other crazy things happening these days ... it snowed today! Yes, it's supposed to be Spring!
