it's the most wonderful time of the year

"With the kids jingle belling,
and everyone telling you,
'Be of good cheer,'
It's the most wonderful time of the year ..."

Yes people, Christmas is near! We had a staff meeting last Monday and decided to do away with an agenda and made it into a holiday party instead. We ordered BBQ from Redbones instead of our usual pizza standby and did a little gift card twist to the Yankee swap. I put together these little gift bags for each staff member and filled them with a mini album for their favorite photos of 2006 and some homemade cookies. I painted and used rub-ons on some chipboard coasters with their first initials as the "to" tag. It's doing things like this that make me happy the season of giving is here!

I also created some buttons on the Cafe Press website with crafty sayings like "yarn junkie" and "will work for stamps" and attached one to each bag. We have these long lanyard name tags at work and we joke about having a flair contest like in the movie Office Space. So now everyone has at least one piece of flair to wear!

My sister needed to get gifts for each of the boys' teachers so I offered to make necklaces for them instead (she is still paying me, don't worry). Finally finished the last of them today. They are beaded lariats - so simple yet fun to make. Hope the teachers will enjoy them. (Lin, I'll ship these out tomorrow!)

On more of a "shameless promotion" note ... I'm going to be selling some of my greeting cards (holiday ones for sure!), mini albums, journals and more at the Davis Square Midnight Madness Holiday Shopping event on Thursday, December 7th from 5 pm to midnight. So if you're in the area, please stop by and say hello! There are going to be a few other stores participating with us. I'll be at Spark Craft Studios along with some other talented artists including Kate of Kate Casolaro Designs, Jen of Bellina, and Sage of Sagebee.com. It's a great time to take care of some of your holiday shopping needs! Oh and click here for some coupons and more details. Hope to see you there! P.S. Tell everyone you know about the event and pass along the coupon link please! :-)
