We're having a potluck event at work tomorrow and I'm so excited to see what people will bring in. I managed to make some brownie thins and rice krispie treats so hopefully they'll help calm someone's need for sugar! :)

the itsy bitsy spider
On my work today I stopped and took this photo of a spider in a web. Not quite itsy bitsy, rather large actually.
Anyway, kind of a downer ... I think I reagitated a fractured rib (which was from a stupid crafting accident last fall). It's quite sore and swollen so I've been icing it like crazy. Renee and I thought for a while that it was a baby's foot sticking out - ha ha ha ha ha ... yes, we are disturbed.

farmer's market at harvard
There's a farmer's market from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm near Harvard Yard each Tuesday that I had yet to check out until today. It's going to be there until October 28th, so you guys should check it out. It's in front of the Science Center building and near Sanders Theatre where Kirkland and Oxford Street meet. There are some nice booths that sell a variety of fruits, vegetables, wild flowers, plants, herbs, lavender, bread, jams, fresh mozzarella, pastries, and more. I picked up a French baguette for dinner tonight, a little crate of freshly picked blueberries for Tony's breakfast tomorrow, and some yummy cookies from the Danish Pastry House's booth.
(I took this with my cell phone today ... sorry that it's not the best photo!)

girls night out
Renee, Liz, Amy, Kathy, and I went to the Girls Night Out event at the Paper Source in Porter Square on Thursday night. It was a sold-out event and I think there were about 25 people there altogether. The cost of the workshop was $25 and during the 2+ hours we were there, we made three different craft projects while enjoying some wine and snacks.
At the first station, we made a travel portfolio out of two 5"x7" envelopes and some of their large circle stickers. At the second station, we made collage postcards which were scanned and then printed out for us later. We got five of our own images, so the five of us swapped with each other and went home with five different designs. At the third station, we used rubber stamps and clear embossing powder to decorate our own tote bags.
On top of the craft projects, we also received a 10% off coupon for our purchases that evening. There was a raffle drawing and I won a stationery set. It was a fun time and neat way to spend time with the girls. We also saw Stephanie, Tara, and Katie there so it was like we made up half the party. :) After we registered for the class, each of us received a confirmation paper invitation in the mail. All the little details - like the personalized plastic wine cups - were just so sweet and cute. I can totally see why this event sells out each time they do it!

We got to meet Caroline and I took some photos of her with her big brother, Trevor. Two fricken adorable kids!
I made this card to go with the baby gift. I created the scalloped edge with the new Fiskars punch I bought at AC Moore a couple of weeks ago.Any day now, Shannon & Ryan's baby boy will be born ... next spring, Lorena & Adam will be welcoming a lil' one ... and so will Amy D. (why can't I remember your husband's name all of a sudden, Amy?!) -- more tiny toes to welcome into this world!
